On-campus interviews are a free service offered by the Career Center to Illinois State University students and alumni as a way to connect with a variety of employers seeking to fill both internship and/or full-time positions. The Career Center works in collaboration with academic departments to schedule on-campus interviews. The Career Center is also a regional recruiting site for some major corporations.
Employers promote their available positions both at career events and through the web-based recruiting system, Hire-A-Redbird . When an employer schedules an on-campus interview date, one can choose to fill interview schedule/s during a career event or through Hire-A-Redbird.
After Fair Interviews
An employer may choose to conduct interviews after select fairs. These interviews are offered to employers who would like to conduct "same-day" on-campus interviews with candidates met during the day at a career event, typically after our fall and spring career fairs. For "after fair interviews," employers fill their interview schedules on their own during the career event.
Many employers schedule information sessions about their companies on campus through the Career Center. These sessions typically precede on-campus interviews and provide information about available opportunities, company benefits, culture, and more.
Phone and/or Skype interviews are also offered by the Career Center. These interviews are coordinated between the employer and candidate. However, candidates and employers are welcome to use our facility for their meeting.
