The Accounting Career Fair connects recruiters hiring for accounting positions only with students and alumni who are majoring in accounting and seeking an accounting position.

Meet exciting new talent from Illinois State University. Register for the Accounting Career Fair. Learn more about Illinois State's Accounting Department. Candidates from neighboring institutions may also be in attendance. View travel directions to Illinois State. Event details such as: parking, set-up, etc. will be sent to registrants and will be available here two weeks prior to the event. The Career Center does not accept or send out fair shipments. Career fair planning tips

Make the most of the fair by following these planning tips:

  1. If seeking an internship, consider why you want an internship. Learn more about internships.
  2. Get helpful tips on how to prepare for a career fair. Flip to page 17 of the Career Resource Guide, then attend InstaCareer, our career fair preparation session to learn how to introduce yourself, identify what to say, get tips on how to follow-up after the fair, and more!
  3. Construct an effective resume . View pages 5 - 7 of the Career Resource Guide. Then, visit the Career Center during drop-in hours or at our Late-night Resume Reviews .
  4. Prepare for on-the-spot interviews . Visit InterviewStream to get interview questions listed by major and job industry, and practice your answers.
  5. Identify your answers to commonly asked questions. Flip to page 26 of the Career Resource Guide for sample questions.
  6. Develop a 30 second summary of your professional skills, experience and interests. Visit page 17 of the Career Resource Guide.
  7. Watch our career fair video to learn helpful tips for the day of the fair, and a video from one of our career fairs to see what the fair is actually like and get inside tips and advice from students.   8. Be sure to dress the part by reviewing page 24 of our Career Resource Guide, and page 20 for tips on proper professional etiquette.
  9. Do your research! Visit page 30 of the Career Resource Guide to learn how to do quality research on employers so you can answer the question, "what do you know about our organization?"
  10. Create your Hire-A-Redbird profile for job searches and resume posting. If you already have your profile created, be sure the information in your profile is current and accurate. 
  11. Get a free headshot photo available to Illinois State students at the fair from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Access the 2018 Accounting Career Fair headshot photos on Flickr. (This link will be available until the September 2019.)
